The paid parking scheme in the City Centre garages centres, Central library and Living Arts centre was approved by the council yesterday. The paid parking is also going to be introduced in the Sheridan College municipal lots.
The strategic planning will transition the City Centre from the suburban, automobile oriented environment to a vibrant and transit oriented urban centre. It is being done as a part of solution to the increased traffic problems.
The transportation project officer said that the parking will be charged $65 monthly, $6 daily and $1.50 hourly.
